"New Open Badges: Health and Social Care Standards"
The new Health and Social Care Standards set out what we should expect when using health, social care or social work services in Scotland.
To help Social Care workers in Scotland further with their learning and development, the SSSC has launched a set of Open Badges.
The Health and Social Care Standards badges explore the principles of the new badges:
- Be included
- Compassion
- Dignity and Respect
- Responsive Care and Support
- Wellbeing
There are six badges to collect, one for each of the five principles, as well as a basics badge to get you started. Collect the first six to achieve the Health and Social Care Standards: Awareness Open Badge.
Open Badges are an easy and free online resource provided by the SSSC to help maintain and develop Social Care workers knowledge when working within the Health and Social Care sector within Scotland, using today's technology. You can collect them to evidence your learning and share them in places that matter to you, including offline as printed certificates. When you show your badge to someone, they will be able to see criteria against the badge and any evidence you provided to prove you met the criteria.
Since it's inception of the Open Badge Scheme, we are proud at Healthcare Plus to take part in this scheme and actively encourage our carers within our organisation, to take part in this free, online learning and development resource provided by the SSSC, to aid their careers within the Health and Social care sector in Scotland.
