DECEMBER 2017 NEWS
24th DECEMBER
We can't believe we are at the end of 2017 already and the year really seems to have flown so quickly!
The team at Healthcare Plus have had yet another great year, providing fantastic, person-centred care to our clients and their residents throughout our region. The testimonials that our carers have received from their hard work within our clients, really does go to show that Healthcare Plus are leading the way in delivering a very high-quality, affordable service to care homes and nursing homes, which is now required, more than ever, by clients during these current times of austerity.
Our carers have also grown in terms of their personal and professional development throughout this year, and we are extremely proud of their achievements and efforts, providing such invaluable support and assistance, and very often, so selflessly, turning their own lives upside down to help others.
We are working with a variety of different clients across our region, whose residents often have very differing needs - not a small task when you are a carer - but our carers push on, accepting new challenges and ways of working, in a highly professional manner at all times, encouraging and promoting independence as much as possible.
We would like to thank all our carers and our clients for their continued support throughout 2017 and very much look forward to working with you all again in 2018.
Healthcare Plus would like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
13th DECEMBER - SCLD - Scottish Commission for Learning Disability Week 2018 - My Generation!
The Scottish Commission for Learning Disability is excited to announce that Scotland's national Learning Disability Week in 2018 will take place from Monday 14th - Sunday 20th May 2018.
The theme for 2018 is 'My Generation' as 2018 is the Year of Young People in Scotland. The week will be a way of celebrating the lives and talents of people with Learning Disabilities in Scotland, by participating in a range of different activities.
The 'My Generation' week will focus the country's attention on the experiences of young people with Learning Disabilities in Scotland and is a great way of older people with Learning Disabilities to highlight how much Scotland has changed during their lifetime. It will encourage people with Learning Disabilities of all ages to reflect on the things that summed up their younger lives.
In January 2018, the SCLD will be posting free 'Get Involved' packs to help people participate in this week.
If you would like further information on this truly brilliant event, you can visit the SCLD's website - www.scld.org.uk/learning-disability-week-2018-generation
We hope that everyone involved has a great week!
