One of our valued workers, Stephanie Bateman, took her time to let us know about her daily routine since starting working with Healthcare Plus. We'd like to share this with you below:
"I get up around 5.45am, sort my lunch and dinner for my busy day ahead. My day starts off with a cup of coffee and porridge before leaving my house for my 55 minute journey to Greenock. My working day starts at 8.00am where I enter a handover meeting which takes approximately half an hour before I am allocated rooms to go to throughout the morning, assisting with the residents morning routines where they are greeted with a welcoming smile, a nice hot shower, hair washed, teeth brushed and fresh clean clothes. I also apply daily creams, lotions and potions. I then ask what that person would like for breakfast and assist with this for most residents in the dining area, I also assist with toileting and personal care and meal times throughout the day with lunchtime meals normally served around 12.15.
I do daily tasks such as washing up, laundry, changing clinical bins, and on occasion I may go out of the home with a resident to a café or to the shops. I would then assist with evening meals which are normally served at 4.45pm ensuring I ALWAYS push fluids with every resident, this is very important! Then the bed time routine comes into play where I assist with washing and applying nightly creams whilst assisting residents into their night wear and settle them into bed making sure they are comfortable and their pull cord is accessible.
For the rest of the evening I would answer the pager call system where residents can request assistance at any time of the day or night. I do laundry and a general tidy up before the shift ends, finishing my shift at 9.20pm. I then get home at around 10.10pm where I can wind down for half an hour then I take myself of to bed, after ensuring that all my residents are safe, comfortable and have all their requirements met."
We'd like to thank Stephanie for providing us with her insights

She also had this to say "Healthcare Plus staff are very professional, friendly and trustworthy. I would highly recommend this service"

Congratulations to Lynsey Irving for being named our Carer Of The Month for January. Lynsey went over and beyond for Healthcare Plus when Lynsey went to the aid of one of our clients, even though one of her own family was poorly at the time. As always we would like to thank her for her continued hard work and support |
